When it comes down to money, everybody has a personal story.

What does yours sound like?

Sadly, most stories I hear these days are filled with loss, resentment and pain. I know and understand that the stories are real : I do not dispute the facts. I also feel compassion for the pain and suffering coming with sad stories, especially when they happen to close friends and relatives.

I truly care for people around me, and get concerned when friends of mine deeply sink into their stories to the point that they can't move forward or create anything new or better in their life.

Many of you have probably been deeply impacted by unemployment, divorce or other financial challenges at one stage or another in your life and will be able to relate to this.

When victimhood kicks in, it seems like a dark cloud hangs over us, hides our light and hopes. Today looks like very much likes yesterday and there is no improvement.

At that point, it is crucial to process your personal story. By this, I mean that it is crucial that you release what happened quickly, before what happened in the past even gets a chance to grow big and deep roots which will make it harder to dislodge later.

Since becoming a Certified Money Coach, I witness the risks and consequences of becoming trapped within a personal money story.

What I would love you to understand if you are hitting a wall is that ... your financial situation IS NOT who you are, it is simply your current situation ... which can change unless you identify too much with it.

Read the previous sentence several times till it sinks in...

Your financial situation IS NOT who you are, it is simply your current situation ... which can change unless you identify too much with it...

When your situation and circumstances become your life's story, let me be honest, it usually doesn't end well at all!

Unless you manage to release the past, it is likely that tomorrow will feel very much like yesterday and the day before ... This self-fulfilling prophecy leaves you unable to reach your full potential and you remain stuck in this rut.

Whatever happened to you in the past is real and painful, Got it! But it is NOT who you are ... unless you let it become who you are by failing to let it go.

There is a Victim archetype within everyone of us, to a degree or another. This being said, you have to resist the temptation to be led by the Victim archetype and to become a victim embarked in the tragedy of your own story.

It does not have to be that way at all. Quite the opposite actually : I invite you to become the Hero or Heroine of your story by developing and propelling forward other archetypes. You can do this. You actually must do this if our Money Quiz highlights a high score for the Victim archetype.

Start by writing the next chapter today!

I am looking forward to read it, and to hear what happens next!
