Not doing something is still doing something.

Did you ever notice how we focus so much on what we do — the plans we make, the goals we hit, the decisions we take, our « to do lists »?

But what about the stuff we don't do?

     That conversation we've been avoiding.
The investment decision we keep putting off.
The client we don't follow up with.
     The boundaries we don't set.

I have been thinking about this a lot lately— not from a place of guilt, but from a place of curiosity. Because inaction has impact too.

Sometimes, NOT doing something quietly shapes our lives just as much as taking bold action.

In the work I do, I see this all the time with money. People with a strong Innocent archetype are waiting for the "perfect" time to invest. The Martyr archetype leads others to delay having a difficult money conversation not to offend someone, the list goes on and on.

But waiting — or avoiding — is still a decision. Like it or not, it has ripple effects!

For me, the Avoider Saboteur is a familiar companion. It tells me, "Don't rock the boat," or "Just wait a bit longer."

And the Stickler one? Always aiming for perfection, frustrated when things don't go perfectly and unable to to forget the mistakes of the past.

They are trying to protect me — but sometimes, that protection looks like "stuckness".

On the flip side, when we do take action — even a small one — it creates momentum. It doesn't have to be dramatic. It could be one email, one call, one honest answer to the question:

What am I avoiding that could actually help me grow?

We don't have to do everything. But ignoring the things that truly matter to us — that cost something too !

What's something you haven't done yet... that's quietly shaping your life right now?
