Ever get a headache and wonder if it's more than just... a headache?
I get them pretty often — the kind of headache that settles in when I have been doing too much, thinking too hard, or just quietly carrying mental stuff around in the background. Usually I drink water, sleep it off, and keep going.
But recently I started asking: What if my body is trying to tell me something I am not hearing?
In Chinese medicine, headaches are often linked to stress, frustration, or emotions we haven't really dealt with. And even if you are not into that kind of thing, it is not hard to see the connection: we all intuitively know what it feels like to be tense, overthinking, or holding back.
As someone who is naturally purpose driven (hello, Magician archetype) , creative, and always working on the next business idea or investment (that's my Warrior side), I have learned how easy it is for me to ignore discomfort — especially when things look "fine" on the outside. Add in a strong Avoider or Hyper Vigilant voice in my head (yep, guilty!), and it is a perfect recipe for pushing things down until the body says: "Hey... pay attention !".
Whether it is a tight jaw, a sore back, low energy, or just feeling off — sometimes our bodies are a few steps ahead of our minds. So now, when a headache hits, I ask myself:
What am I trying to power through?
Is there something I'm avoiding or quietly worrying about — especially around money, deadlines, or decisions I don't want to make?
It is not about over-analyzing every ache and pain. But it is about being honest with yourself.
Because your body? It is often a better communicator than we give it credit for !
What about you?
What kind of physical or emotional tension shows up for you — especially when you are stressed about money, work, or life decisions?
